For a week, I have been feeling devastated reading and watching news from the Middle East.
I am deeply concerned for the hostages and victims of the ongoing violence in Israel and the Gaza Strip, as well as other affected areas. I regret not showing more solidarity sooner with the Palestinian civilians who have endured immense suffering for decades. I sincerely hope for an end to the pain and hardship.
I also want to express my profound appreciation and support for the diplomats, politicians, medical specialists, journalists, UN staff, volunteers, and everyone tirelessly working toward a peaceful resolution. I thank you for your unwavering dedication to humanity.
